I plan to post more here in the future because I just got into Kamen Rider, both OOO and now the series as a whole recently (still figuring out which one to see next!) and I really want to talk about it with other fans. :D I really hope new life can continue be brought back here in the future as time goes on. Anything I can do to help, I'm happy to! I haven't been as hot on things for a few years, but you can guarantee that if one of the background Riders in a show is an old man, I will be there, ready to obsess about the details of his personality at you.

I think it's wonderful that you're so willing to bring back this community! I salute your efforts totally! Slightly outside of DW, but a group of us run watch parties for toku + adjacent stuff on discord on Fridays, so if you ever want to see the worst of what toku can offer, I'll introduce you to the gang, hahah.

I really appreciate it! :D I'm always down for recs on what series to see next. I'm still figuring out what to pick between Kuuga, Fourze and Den-O myself. Also want to see some of the Showa era riders too at some point. There's just so much to pick from!

I should be thanking you. I've always been too shy to actually post here, but seeing you regularly share your fic has obviously emboldened me. :p I genuinely think it's great that you're throwing yourself into this and going all out so of course I want to support that!

There's so much I love about these shows, about their discussion of what it is to be a hero, and the incumbent values of that, so I am excited to see someone else also excited about them and expressing those feelings creatively. I am unfairly biased towards late Showa shows, and I think it's unfair of me to be like hey have you considered watching these 50 episodes of loss and body horror from 1988? so I hope more people step forward to give you recommendations!

As for discord: ta-da! It's a small server and it started off as a place to promo original writing by a few of us, and then the pandemic happened and it just became a place for everyone to hang out and talk about what they were watching/enjoying. Your mileage may vary, but if you do join, I hope you have fun!

There really is a lot to Kamen Rider, and while I've only seen OOO so far there was a lot about OOO that really spoke to me. (I've also seen an episode of the original when it became available to stream here a couple years ago.) OOO was such a wonderful show and I cannot wait to check out more of this wonderful series and what stories it will have, what each entry has to say, and more! I'm absolutely thrilled to be finally getting into Kamen Rider after being interested in this entire series for so long.

I think OOO was written by Kobayashi Yasuko, right? She's not always my favourite writer, but when she's on form, she's really on form. Ah! It's just so exciting to see someone so enthusiastic! I am experiencing some kind of secondhand glee because it's just so nice that you're so into it. I remember the first time I came across these shows and I was just so taken aback so what you're feeling I can definitely relate to!

Since I'm not too familiar with Toku writers yet I did google and yes she did write it! (I also learned she did the Sailor Moon Toku, which I enjoyed as a kid! I do need to rewatch it sometimes because its well been over 15 years since I saw it on youtube when each episode was uploaded in 3 parts)

And that makes me so happy to hear!! I really enjoyed OOO so much, it's a show thats definitely going to be in my mind for a very long time. I could go on for ages why I loved it so much. I'm just super excited to see other kamen rider entries in the future as well!! :D

She's very well thought of. Some of her work is just... fantastic. I think I've mentioned before that even when I don't like her stories, I can always find one or two characters that fascinate me.
