Drive 06 Discussion post!

Whoops a bit late, sorry about that! Too much monster fighting.

And it's time for~~~~ The weekly episode discussion post!

That's a terrible side-effect for a thing meant to heal civilians. What the hell Belt-san.

Shinnosuke learned that the cure is sometimes worse than the disease (aside from not dying anyway).

We saw the debut of Type Wild and the proper use of the Rumble Dump Shift Car since Type Speed couldn't handle it. We saw Shinnosuke regain a bit of faith in humanity that the surprise that a seemingly-sweet guy like the Font-R president being sketchy had robbed from him.

And the most important thing was that Rinna has actually been Drive's mechanic all along! Surprise!

So what do you guys think?

I've loved Rinna since the first Drive trailer came out so I'm definitely glad she's getting to do more. I felt like the hints about Kirihara were a little too subtle, but maybe a re-watch of the arc will change my mind. Not sure.

I cannot believe how many little gadgets Drive has for ten-year-olds to buy. Like. Has any series so far had this many this early in the series? I'm not complaining, just damn. (Also: Where are my Shift Car gijinkas??)

definitely in agreement about rinna! (and, yeah, wow, this is a lot of gadgets up front. maybe even more than fourze had this far in?) i thought the hints about kirihira were just subtle enough though, like..enough to be a little wary but not enough to know whether hes just a jerk or if theres really something wrong. i think thats good for the mystery aspect of the show. but i mean, i am also not incredibly clever, or a writer! so [big shrug]

im happy with the way Mysteries and stuff are going so far though its been way cool...i hope it keeps up with it

I feel like the show's pace is kind of... weird? Like the pace of the overarching story is fine but I feel like things get wrapped up quickly in the two-episode arcs... Then again I'm kind of slow to process things so that might just be me haha.

Otherwise I'm really excited about this show and I really wanna know more about everything!!! aaa. I'm so happy about Rinna and I really hope she and Kiriko are great friends. I hope they're all good friends.

(also did someone say....... gijinkas)

The two-episode arcs might feel weird because Gaim just wrapped up? OTOH I haven't even finished watching Gaim and I agree that the pacing feels odd, but then this is the first Rider I've watched in real time so I don't know if my opinion is worth much here.

(oh no they're cUTE... lmao wow シ腐トカー is the best tag ever)

Maybe... Admittedly I fell really behind on Gaim in the middle and only finished it when it was over but since then I've been watching earlier heisei series that don't follow the two-episode structure nearly as rigidly. So that might be part of it!

the toku slash tags are all pretty great imo

Is it time to start a tally of how many times people fall into rivers in Drive? It's a long standing Rider tradition, after all.
